Head Injury & Wild Weather Sailing The Atlantic

written by Terysa August 30, 2018

We are on our third and final leg of sailing across the Atlantic ocean!

We are sailing from the Azores to Portugal, a 1000 mile passage which was rather challenging at times. Terysa celebrates her birthday at sea with a chocolate cake and some rare sunshine, and then things go downhill somewhat when the swell and wind pick up and life onboard gets a little wild! Terysa sustains a bump to the head when she’s thrown across the boat due to a particularly big wave, and also loses her oats (not a metaphor).

BUT THEN- we reach land and the weather becomes drastically different as round a cape and encounter millpond conditions of the coast of Portugal. Crazy!!
