How to sail with your Partner and not end up divorced!

written by Nick March 27, 2020

Moving from a life on land where you see your partner/ husband/wife for only a few hours a day to living on a boat 24/7 takes some adjustment. We have seen marriages in utter meltdown, tatters, & ruins from this level of proximity. We struggled in the beginning but learned to adapt.
Now our relationship is stronger than it has ever been, but how do you live with your partner on a boat and still get to enjoy your long term cruise?

I agree poor communication skills won’t add to any relationship. Personal space, be your own maker, do your own thing. Making decisions together is essential. The process of learning the operational details of the vessel together is essential for happy sailing. What would happen if the Captain becomes ill…. yeah sailing like you two do has to be a partnership. I also think you guys have been blessed with finding each other. You have lots in common are living the dream that is near and dear to both of you. That’s amazing.
Active listening lol… not selective…Dealing with the little things…Just for you things…love it….a guitar player myself….workouts on a boat, exercise light weights essential good on you girl !!! I think a sense of humor makes a relationship healthy and light. You both rock in that department too!!!
You are a handsome Couple!!! I love sharing your journey vicariously, thanks!

Another great podcast you two. Yours are the first podcasts to which I’ve listened. The standard is high for any subsequent podcast presenters I hear in the future.
Of course, Nick left out one key element of your success…Terysa obviously possesses the patience of Job! πŸ€£πŸ˜‚

Looking forward to more videos and podcasts 😊

Thanks you two, great podcast. I am glad Terysa is back as the ‘tea’ seemed to be getting a bit of a hammering.
Couples who live and work together have to overcome the blame game in order that the Male in the relationship will start to open up and communicate properly. It depends hugely on the personalities involved as some males and females have a disguised agenda not to bother the other with small thing which may collectively brew up a storm. Well done to you both for talking about this and helping some to resolve this. Best wishes for the ‘tea’ holiday which is normally called a pandemic. Stay safe you two. Looking forward to the next episodes. Al n Sue
