This episode we look at the Outremer 51 Catamaran. Outremer have a reputation for building good, fast and strong catamarans. Their popularity for liveaboard sailors is legendary and this the is big sister to the Outremer 45. It also has a big sister in the Outremer 5X.
What will we think about this particular Outremer Catamaran? Is it the Catamaran of our dreams?

Hi guys,
I know this is just a project. But maybe you find this interesting. I’ve stumbled about them (Garcia) and their Alu Cat.

Personally I don’t like it as I don’t see 2 helm stations as in Outremer 5x … But have a look.
Cheers!
PS. I kinda like you guys
Terysa & Nick,
Leaving the mainsheet unattended is not a good idea in case of high winds that precede a front. A possible solution is the upsideup mainsheet release mechanism. http://www.oceandatasystem.com/Documents/UpSideUp-version-comparison-EN.pdf
It can be controlled from the inside helm. The mid- and high-end models feature both wind speed and tension release triggers.
You should look at the St. Francis 50.
We’ll be at the America’s Boating Club booth at the Annapolis Sailboat show – perhaps we can meet.
