Gone With The Wynns Q&A

written by Terysa April 7, 2019

Okay, so first of all, I apologise for the audio in this video. There was a lot of background hull slap which the microphone picked up, so trying to reduce that while still keeping our voices sounding natural was a challenge for me.

Anyway, onto the Q&A! Huge thankyou to our Patrons for submitting their questions, which were fantastic and way better than what we could have come up with ourselves.

Hi Nick & Terysa
Firstly thank you for doing the vlog, very informative.

I am going through the same dilemma, I am a though and through mono sailer, my dream boat was your current boat, I kept my boat in Chichester and saw the southerlys all the time, hence I started following you but as time has gone on I am also moving over to the space of the cat… I agree for actually sailing you cant beat a mono but for life on the hook then the cat wins hands down…
Also for every negative I see a positive, in the unlikely event of the cat flipping at least it wont sink… its a very expensive life raft but You hear a lot more stories of keels coming off, if you hole a cat it wont sink, a mono will…
But which Cat,? I would be very interested in your choice, I love the Lagoon 440 owners edition, it ticks all the boxes apart from its a lagoon… or is that unfair to lagoon, its so hard to get to the basic truth of build quality…
I am a couple of years behind you but I have made a stepping stone to life on the water, I left a very stressful job and now working in Corfu skippering a 44’ Nautitech, great boat for sailing but not live aboard… it has curved seats in the saloon so you cant kick back…. also storage Is rubbish…
Keep up the good work, sorry i’m not a patron, skippers wages as you know are rubbish…
I will keep following your adventure…

All the very best

Hi Phillip, thanks so much for your comment. I hope the videos we intend to start putting out throughout the year on boat tours & reviews will help answer some of your questions. We’re going to the Grande Motte boat show next week, and the Annapolis Boat show in October, and we also hope to visit some of the yards in France, perhaps including Lagoon. Quality of build and liveability are two of our biggest priorities, so we’ll be focussing on that as we go through our research. Best of luck with your boat search!
